    1881: 1 c. carmine on yellowish imperforate, a horizontal pair and a horizontal strip of five on 1883 cover from Jacmel to Genoa, Italy; tied by "Jacmel" cds's (Sept 25). Calais transit cds below and reverse with Paris and Genova (Oct 15) datestamps. Underpaid and offered "as is / tel quel", but nevertheless a remarkable Number 1 franking.

    1905 (April 12): 2 c. orange on pink postal stationery card, optd. "Gt. Pre / Mai 1902" in black, sent registered to Germany via New York; up-rated  with 1904 1 c. green and 10 c. orange-brown tied by "Jacmel / Haiti" datestamps in black. New York registered label of transit at top and oval transit (April 22) on front, alongside Hamburg arrival (May 1) cds. A fresh and fine usage.
