    1877(March 30): Autographed Letter Sheet written and signed by Charles E. 'Chinese' Gordon of Khartoum, written in French at Keren (Ethiopia) to a Monsieur Habib and mentioning a telegraphic despatch to Osman Pacha, the Abyssinian Authorities, Massowah etc. Fresh and very fine, a rare unpublished letter.

    1894: The first issue, from ½ g. to 16 g. in complete mint sheets of 150 stamps, separated by vertical and horizontal gutters into 6 panes of 25 stamps (5 x 5), all showing "4" in the vertical gutter indicating date of printing (three times on the sheet) and with sheet numbers at lower right corner. Some ageing and splitting but an extraordinary lot, with original gum, the sole surviving complete sheets recorded Mi = EUR 3'000+.

    1903 (Feb 24): Postcard sent registered to St. Petersburg, Russia franked by 1902 'Bosta' overprinted ½ g. red tied by "Harar" cds in blue. Obock 1892 50 c. cinnamon and French Somali Coast 5 c. green applied for onward transmission and tied by "Djibouti" cds's in blue (March 5). St. Petersburg arrival cds in violet. Card creased but an extremely scarce stamp on letter to a most unusual destination.

Issued card for comparison, a unique pair.
