    1831: Cover sent from Walachia, Romania to Kragujevac, Serbia, dated 12 March 1831, addressed to Prince Miloš Obrenović, the letter crossing the border into Serbia being disinfected at Porec Quarantine station, manuscript endorsement to reverse 'Preslo preko Kontumaca Poreckog / 11 Marta 831' ('Passed via Contumacy Porec / 11 March 831'); Porec was established as a quarantine station in the Principality of Serbia operating for just six months in 1831; clean outer letter sheet, rare.rnNote: Miloš Obrenović (1780 to 1860), also known as Miloš the Great, was the Prince of Serbia on two occassions, 1815 to 1839, and 1858 to 1860. During the first Serbian uprising he was an eminent figure and the leader of the Second Serbian uprising. He was the founder of the House of Obrenović and during his rule Serbia became an autonomous principality within the Ottoman Empire.rn

    1841: Cover sent from Serbia to Bucharest, Romania, addressed to Princess of Serbia, letter taking the southern route after crossing the Danube, being disinfected at Turn Severine Quaratine station, with negative handstamp mark to the reverse a Cyrillic 'Wallachian Eagle' of this station and manuscript annotation of treatment. Scarce.
