    1866 (27 Sept): Entire letter from the Russian consular P.O. in Constantinople via Odessa to Kishinev in Bessarabia, bearing Imperial 1865 10 kop. brown & blue in a strip of three, tied by light KONSTANTINOPOL despatch cds in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 3), KISHINEV arrival cds in black alongside, reverse with ODESSA transit (29 Sept) cds. Rare usage of Imperial adhesives before the ROPiT issues came into use.rnProvenance: Collection Pavlovsk, Corinphila sale 92 (March 1996), lot 4831.

    1897: 4 k. green postal stationery card used from Rizeh to France cancelled by two fine strikes of "ROPiT / RIZEH" circular datestamp (May 17j) in red (Tchilinghirian fig. 733). Unclear further ROPiT strike in black of transit alongside "Galati" cds in black (June 2) and arrival cds below (June 6). Two small spike holes but very scarce. Ex collection Sassower.

    Russian P.O.'s in Crete (Rethymnon), 1899: Dealer stock of 160 stamps, each stamp on small stock card in the usual mixed condition but with some very nice examples.
