"CONSTANTINOPEL" despatch cds, the 1862 entire prepaid to Leipzig with blue despatch cds and "FRANCO" with "VIA KUSTENDJE & VIENNA" in same ink; 1864 entire letter to Steyr sent unpaid with despatch cds in black and same routing handstamp, with Vienna, Triest and Steyr cds's on reverse. A fine and attractive pairing.

    Soldi and Kreuzer Mixed Franking 1867: Austria 10 kr. blue used in combination with Levant 2 s. orange-yellow and 3 s. green on 1871 cover from Constantinople to Vienna endorsed "Via Varna" at top in manuscript and "Franco" within sender's blue cachet at base, tied by two fine strikes of framed "LETTERE ARIVATE / PER MARE / VARNA" datestamp (Oct 7) in black. Reverse with Vienna arrival cds (Oct 14) in black. Illustrated in "Österreich-Ungarn, 125 Jahre Ausgabe 1867" by Puschmann, König & Schindler on page 187.
