    1852: 6 baj. black on greenish and fine 50 baj. blue, used on 1860 double rate cover from Rome to Monseigneur John Bede Polding, Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia tied by grill handstamp in black. "Roma" despatch cds (Nov 14) at right with framed 'P.P.' in back, thence via Marseille (Nov 19) with transit in red. Reverse with fine double arc "SHIP-LETTER / SYDNEY" cds of receipt (17 Jan 1861) in black. A remarkably fine and extremely rare cover from this tiny correspondence Sassone = € 13'000+.rnNote: John Bede Polding (1794-1877) was the first Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney.
