    Air Mail 1926 (May 23 - Oct. 11): Duggan, Oliviero and Campanelli  First Flight USA - Brazil - Uruguay -  Two covers flown from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo, one franked by 1924/32 200r other by 100r and pair of 50r., both tied by Rio de Janeiro cds and neat "AVIÃO "BUENOS AYRES" / =RAID= / New York-Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Ayres" framed hs in violet black. Only ten covers flown, a rarity of South American early airmails. Covers minimal toned, otherwise fine and scarce.rnNote: Carried from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo by the seaplane "Buenos Ayres", piloted by Bernado Duggan, E. Olivero and Ernesto Campanelli. According to the "El Correo Aéreo Rioplatense" handbook by Bousquet, the widow of Bernardo Duggan stated that ten covers were dispatched to Montevideo.rn

    Prephilately 1839: Printed Matter entire letter written in German to London, endorsed "pr. Alert Pkt.", struck on despatch by fine "RIO-JANEIRO" double arc despatch cds (May 21) in black (early usage, known from January only). Reverse with London arrival (July 22) and manuscript notation "Only Double, Fredk. Huth & Co." and the rate changed from "10/6d." due to pay to a prepaid "7/-" in red manuscript. Scarce.

    Issuance of the Bull's Eyes 1843 (2 Aug): Entire stampless letter from Diamantina to Rio de Janeiro, despatched on the second day of the Bull's Eyes with handwritten note of the date on front, struck by oval framed "V. DIAMANTINA" handstamp in black. The receiver had to pay '120' reis.

    1846 (14 July): Lettersheet from Santos to Buenos Aires, closed by two single examples of Inclinados 60 r. black, tied by indistinct large double circle "CORREIO DE SANTOS" datestamp. The two adhesives torn when the letter was opened, nevertheless an interesting cover to Argentina, '10' centavos Argentinian charge noted in manuscript.

    1867 (22 Jan): Entire letter from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo, Uruguay, bearing in reverse a combination franking of Verticais 180 r. black, a lower sheet marginal example and Dom Pedro 1866 10 r. vermillion, tied by dotted obliterator, front struck by "RIO-DE-JANEIRO" despatch cds in black and framed "P.P." in red. The Dom Pedro adhesive glued over the edge, nevertheless an interesting combination to a better destination.

    1877 (15 July): Entire letter from Rio de Janeiro to Langenthal, forwarded to Langnau, Switzerland, endorsed "p. Orinoque", bearing 1866 60 r. black perforated, scissor cut at right in mixed franking with 1877 Dom Pedro 200 r. black rouletted, tied by segmented cork cancels, with "RIO DE JANEIRO" despatch cds alongside, French "BRESIL / BORDEAUX" entry cds in blue (6 Aug) tying the lower adhesive. Reverse struck by BERN transit, and LANGENTHAL arrival (7 Aug), then LANGNAU on the same day. Interesting franking in the new 260 reis rate to Switzerland valid from July 1877 coming from the well known company Luchsinger in Rio Grande do Sul.

    1866: Dom Pedro 100 r. green, a single example used on 1874 cover from Ceara to Paris cancelled by two strikes of segmented cork handstamps in black with CEARA cds below (Dec 19). Underpaid by 220 reis as found to be double weight and struck with oval "INSUFFICIENTE" in red. Carried by PSNC Steamer and struck with "BRESIL / BORDEAUX" entry marking (Jan 10) and '16' décimes charge marking also in red and rare thus.
