    1886: 2 a. violet-blue, position 18 from Setting 5, printed in light blue (error of colour, printed in the ink used for the 1 anna), a fine and fresh example with fair to large margins, cancelled by barred oval obliterator. This example is in a much lighter shade than the other deep blue variety items, a most appealing colour variety wîth the cancellation leaving the tablet free. Opinion Flack (2011).rnrnNote: Hellrigl & Vignola state in their book: "The printings in Blue are extremely rare. These are undoubtly genuine errors of colour ... no postally used copies are known".     1900: 25c. rose and blue on cover from 'Djibouti' addressed to Emperor Menelik II personally in 'Addis Abbeba'. On the reverse are two transit marks HARAR (7-8-19) and ENTOTTO (20-8-19). According to 'Payne' (Cockerill Series Booklet 17), the year slug '00' for 1900 was not available, hence '19' was used (as the next best thing). The stamp on this very fresh letter is stuck down over the edge. Nonetheless a most desirable letter of the period to a prominent recipient.

    Angola 1877: Cover from Luanda to Lisbon endorsed "per Bengo" of Empresa Luzitana line, franked by 1870/7 Crown 50 r. green, Type I on thin paper, perf. 12½ (Scott 6), one rounded corner perf., tied by barred obliterator in black. "LOANDA" cds below (July 28) in black and reverse with oval framed "Provincias / Ultramarinas" datestamp (Aug 5) in black. Rare but the cover sadly affected by some recent water damage in the post together with the certificate by Miranda da Mota AIEP (2010).
