    1845 (March 19): Entire letter written in Ocaña with manuscript rate 1½ reales at top left, fine oval OCAÑA / FRANCA of despatch. Transit of JAMAICA / SHIP LETTER handstamp on obverse in black and reverse with KINGSTON AP 29 1845 JAMAICA transit cds and "London arrival (June 4) cds in red. Rated 1/4d. to pay, a pristine cover from the Huth correspondence.

    British Post Office 1853: Entire letter from Santa Martha to New York, prepaid and struck with "♚ / PAID AT SANTA MARTHA" in red - very fine for this marking, with manuscript '1/-' in red alongside. Struck on arrival with "Steamship / 10" on entry in black. Reverse with double arc SANTA MARTHA despatch cds (March 7) carried by RMSP "Medway" from Colon and ST. THOMAS transit (April 3) in black, where trans-shipped to the Cunard "Merlin" for the voyage to New York. A rare entire Scott A130 = $ 2'200 / Gi = £ 1'900.

    British Post Office 1854: Great Britain 1865/73 4 d. vermilion pl. 12, a horizontal pair used on 1872 entire letter from Santa Martha to New York tied by "C62" obliterator in black. Single ring despatch cds SANTA-MARTHA at left (May 29) and COLON transit (June 2) carried by the RMSP "Tasmanian" from Colon. "New York / U.S.Notes / 20" depreciated currency cds applied on arrival (June 18) in black. Adhesives crossed by file fold but a scarce and attractive entire.
