    British Post Office 1847: Cover from Hong Kong endorsed "P. Paid" and "Per OIverland Mail via Southampton", addressed to Captain Balfour of the Madras Infantry in London, prepaid with "2/-." in red manuscript, struck with fine "♚  / PAID AT HONG KONG" in red. Reverse with fair only HONG KONG despatch cds in black (Aug. 13), oval framed "Forwarded by / J.M. Richardson / 23 / Cornhill, London" cachet in black, and London arrival (Oct. 1). Peripheral edge wear but scarce Gi = £ 800.
