    British Post Office 1863: Entire letter from Rio de Janeiro to Montevideo, Uruguay with Rio double arc British P.O. cds on reverse (May 7) and, on obverse by fine strike of "♚ / PAID AT RIO DE JANEIRO" in black with corresponding '1/-' in red manuscript alongside. Endorsed and carried on RMSP "Mersey". A superb and most attractive entire Scott A6 = $ 2'000 / Gi = £ 850.

    British Post Office 1854: Great Britain 1865/73 4 d. vermilion pl. 11, used on 1871 entire letter from Bahia to Buenos Ayres, Argentina tied by bold strike of "C83" obliterator in black with single ring BAHIA cds at right (June 30). Carried on the RMSP "La Plata" during the yellow fever outbreak affecting Argentina and probably held for quarantine upon arrival as docketing of receipt states July 11th internally. A fine entire.

    British Post Office 1854: Great Britain 1858/69 2 d. blue pl. 14, a horizontal pair used on 1873 cover from Pernambuco to Buenos Ayres, Argentina tied by fine strikes of "C82" obliterator in black. Reverse with single ring "Pernambuco" despatch cds's (July 5) in black. Scarce and fine cover.
