    Norddeutscher Postbezirk, occupation issue Alsace-Lorraine 1870 (Nov 8): Envelope from Épinal under German occupation to Nantes, bearing 1870 occupation stamp 10 c. orange-brown type II with good perfs, tied by framed "K: PR: FELDPOSTRELAIS No 66" Fieldpost despatch cds in black. French "PRUSSE 10 NOV. 70 LILLE" entry cds alongside. Taxed upon arrival with '5' décimes for an unpaid letter from Prussia via Belgium, a cover full of postal history showing the communication between the occupied and non-occupied parts of France via Belgium in the period beween September 1870 and February 1871.

    Norddeutscher Postbezirk, occupation issue Alsace-Lorraine 1870 (Dec 9): Envelope from Strasbourg under German occupation to Millau, endorsed "par la Suisse", bearing 1870 occupation stamp 20 c. blue type I with good perfs, tied by crisp "STRASSBURG IM ELSASS 9 12 70 4-5 N." despatch cds in black. French "PRUSSE 10 DEC. 70 LILLE" entry cds in red alongside, reverse with indistinct Millau arrival cds. Taxed upon arrival with '30' (c.) taxe tampon. Minor edge wear, nevertheless an interesting cover showing the means of communication between the occupied and non-occupied parts of France via Switzerland or Belgium in the period beween September 1870 and February 1871.
