    1870/71: Siège 20 c. blue pair used on cover from Marseille to Constantinople, cancelled on board Paquebot "Tage" with circular "LIGNE U / PAQ. FR. No. 1" in blue, underpaid by 60 centimes on despatch and struck with framed "AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT" and '6' décimes handstamp both in blue (1 fr. - 40 c. paid = 60 c. charge). Reverse with French P.O. in Constantinople cds of receipt (Aug 26). Scarce.

    1871: France Cérès 25 c. blue, a used example on 1872 cover to Constantinople with "Gare du Tours" cds adjacent, underpaid and struck with framed "AFFRANCHISEMENT / INSUFFISANT" and '75c.' handstamp in red (taxed as unpaid letter 1 franc - less 25 c. paid = 75 c.). Reverse with Marseille transit cds (Sept 13) and French P.O. in Constantinople arrival cds (Sept 21). A charming and scarce cover. Signed Roumet.

Cover found to be double weight with '2' in manuscript and triangular "T" marking above oval "BM" (Boîte Mobile) in black, taxed on arrival with Duval 1881 Postage Due 50 c. black (Maury T20) tied by "Constantinople / Turquie" cds (may 13). Rare cover.
