    British P.O. in Panama 1858/69: Great Britain 2 d. blue pl. 12 and 6 d. lilac pl. 6 tied to 1870 underpaid cover to France by "C35" obliterator in black with rare usage of "INSUFFICIENTLY / PREPAID" handstamp in red below (short paid 4d.). Reverse with PANAMA cds (May 21) in black, thence via London where framed "GB / 1F 60c." accountancy marking applied with Calais transit adjacent (both also tying the adhesives). Charged '10' décimes handstruck on arrival: tariff of 1 Jan 1866. Small tone spot at top but of fine appearance and a rare cover. Cert.     Lot# : 7463 Panama

    Panama 1885: Cover bearing PSNC imprinted crest on reverse, mailed stampless to Paris due to the Civil War and turbulence within Colombia (please see French description on the internet, taken from a letter sent from the Postal Agents in Panama just ten days prior to this) struck with fine "AGENCIA POSTAL  NACIONAL / PANAMA" duplex in black (March 18). Struck with unframed "T" marking and two strikes of "50" due marking in black, duly taxed on arrival with 1881 Potage Due 10 c. black and 40 c. black tied by triangular handstamp. Repaired tear to envelope but very rare.

    1897: Printed cover from the French Consulate in Panama handstamped "Ministre des / Affaires Etrangeres" in blue, carried by Diplomatic bag to France, struck with triangular "T" marking in black with "Paris / Depart" cds (Nov 27). Taxed with 1893 Postage Due 30 c. red (Maury T33) tied by "Nevers" cds on arrival (Nov 29).
