    1864: 10 c. red on slightly yellowish paper, imperforate with large margins all round, used on 1866 cover from Batavia to Nantes, France tied by framed FRANCO handstamp in black. "Batavia" despatch cds (May 31) at left and thence carried via Singapore and Suez to Marseille with fair "PAYS ETR. V. SUEZ / AMB." in red and charged '10' décimes due to pay. Reverse with Nantes arrival cds (July 10). File fold well away from the adhesive, a fine stamp and extremely rare used on cover to France. Signed Georges Lamy. Cert. Van der Vlist (2005).

    1870/1888: 10 c. orange-brown, perf. 13½ x 12¼, a horizontal strip of three used on 1891 cover to Bordeaux tied by dotted obliterator in black with Weltevreden despatch cds below (July 4) and unframed "T" in black. Carried by French Paquebot "Oxus" with octagonal "LIGNE N / PAQ. FR. No.2" in black (July 7) and three line NED INDIE / OVER / MARSEILLE in violet. Taxed as underpaid on arrival with Postage Due 1881/92 10 c. and 30 c. black (Maury T15+T18) tied by Bordeaux arrival (Aug 13).

    1885: Stampless cover from the French Consulate in Batavia with blue italic cachet at left and endorsed "Service", taxed on arrival in France with triangular "T" marking and notation '0.50', Postage Due 1881/92 10 c. and 40 c. black applied (Maury T15+T20) and tied by triangular handstamp, with Paris cds of receipt in blue alongside (July 23). Fine circular Consular cachet in blue on reverse.

    1889: Covers (2) sent stampless to Romans, France struck with fine MAGELANG despatch cds (March 23) with unframed "T" mark in black alongside. Opened for display to show Weltevreden transit cds (March 26) and two strikes of "Modane a Paris" cds (April 27) in red. Manuscript notation '50' in red ink and charged due with Postage Due 1881/92 5 c. black (two pairs) and single 30 c. black (Maury TT14+T18) tied by Romans cds's (April 28). Obvious file fold but unusual and an 1891 underpaid cover with 1870/88 15 c. orange-brown pair used from Semarang cancelled by '2' numeral with 'T' marking and taxed with pair of Postage Due 10 c. black on arrival in Paris.

    1897/1900: Covers (2) both sent unpaid from Paris and returned to sender, with 1900 cover to the Island of Bali taxed on arrival with 1882/92 Postage Due 2½ c., 15 c. and 20 c. black & rose tied by SINGARADJA datestamps and taxed again when initially redirected at 35 c. (same franking) at Ampenan; Dues deleted in manuscript and returned to Paris where taxed with 50 c. lilac Due; and an 1897 cover to Soerabaja with Postage Due 2½ c., 10 c. (2) and 15 c. black & rose tied by Soerabaja datestamps and INCONNU pink label applied to reverse; deleted and returned to sender in Paris where taxed with 50 c. lilac Due. A remarkable and rare pair.
