    1850/51: Sydney View 3 d. yellow-green, a used example with tear at top right in margin, used on 1852 cover to Moulins, France tied by obliterator handstamp in black. Reverse with "SHIP LETTER / SYDNEY" despatch cds (May 31), thence via London where struck with framed "COLONIES / &c. ART.13" in red and Calais (Oct 27), where British Ship Letter charge of '8' (pence) was overstruck with '15' décimes handstamp due for a single letter, this reaffirmed in manuscript. Despite fault, an important and not unattrractive cover with very few Sydney View covers recorded to France.rnrnProvenance: Collection Trevor Davis.

    1854/59: Diadem 6 d. bluish grey, a used example with ample to large margins all round, used on 1855 entire letter from Sydney to Bordeaux endorsed "per the Emma", cancelled by mute obliterator in black with framed "INSUFFICENTLY / STAMPED" in red alongside. Reverse with SYDNEY / NSW despatch (Dec 5) and AUSTRALIAN / PACKET / LIVERPOOL datestamp in black and '6' British credit in manuscript, struck in London (March 27, 1856) with framed "COLONIES / ART-18" in red. Calais cds alongside (March 28) and charged due at double rate (above 7½ grams) with manuscript '30' décimes due to pay. A scarce and attractive entire.rnrnProvenance: Collection Trevor Davis.

    1854/59: Diadem 6 d. deep bluish grey, a used example with large margins all round, used on 1857 entire letter from Sydney to Bordeaux endorsed "per first steamer Simla via Marseille" (European & Australian Mail Co.) tied by dotted mute obliterator in black. Reverse with SYDNEY / NEW SOUTH WALES cds (Feb 10) in black and obverse with circular "AUSTRALIE V. SUEZ / MARSEILLE" cds in red (April 3). Charged '10' décimes handstruck on arrival for a letter over 7½ grams. A scarce entire.

    1854: 2 d. ultramarine with large even margins all round used with Diadem 1854/59 6 d. bluish-grey with three large margins on 1855 entire letter from Sydney (July 7) to Bordeaux endorsed "pr. Marco Polo" (Black Ball Line), tied by mute obliterators in black. Underpaid on despatch with framed "INSUFFICIENTLY / STAMPED" in red. Reverse with AUSTRALIAN / PACKET / LIVERPOOL datestamp in black (Oct 20) and '6' British credit marking, struck in London with framed "COLONIES / &c. ART.13" in red. Calais cds alongside (Oct 22) and charged due at double rate (above 7½ grams) with manuscript '30' décimes due to pay.     1871/1902: Diadem 8 d. perf. 13, a used example on underpaid 1880 cover to Chateauroux, readdressed on arrival, endorsed "via Brindisi", tied by Sydney / NSW duplex (Nov 22). Triangular "T" marking at right and marked '2' alongside adhesive as the amount short paid, thence via Brindisi (Jan 4, 1881) to destination with handstruck '13' décimes charge marking in black.

Postage Due on arrival; Victoria 1855 Woodblock 6 d. on cover to France taxed '5' décimes, 1898 Victoria ½ d. aniline used on Newsapaper wrapper to France with framed "T/5c." in black and Postage Due 10 c. brown applied.
