    1863/71: 8 c. pale dull orange, wmk. Crown CC, a single example used on 1871 cover to Saigon endorsed "Per Alex Lavaelly", tied by "B62" obliterator in black. HONG KONG despatch cds (Nov 4) in black on reverse and Saigon arrival cds (Nov 10). Red '4' cents credit in manuscript and charged due upon arrivcal with '4' décimes handstamp in black. Some peripheral aging to envelope of no significance, a scarce cover.

    1882: Cover from Hong Kong endorsed "Voie Anglaise" mailed with France Type Sage 3 c. buff on yellow and 15 c. blue pair left uncancelled; struck with "HONG KONG" code P cds (Dec 26) and circular "T" mark alongside in black. The French stamps eventually cancelled by "Modane a Paris" datestamps in red (Jan 28, 1883) and, on arrival in Brest charged with 1881/92 Postage Due 20 c. black (Maury T17) with confirming manuscript '0.20' alongside. Opening tears at top but a most unusual cover.
