Seaman Paul Flaiter of the 'SMS Dresden' (scuttled off Robinson Crusoe Island in 1915). Reseal British "OPENED BY / CENSOR/ P.W. 674" on reverse (run by female staff only in London) with Stockholm arrival (Aug 8) above. 1919: Prisoner of War concessionary rate printed cover to the German 'Hilfsverein' in Stockholm, with signature of sender at left (Adjutant Otto Bitter, a Prisoner of War from the 'SMS Dresden', scuttled off Robinson Crusoe Island in 1915), with 'Talcahuano' cds (May 16) and "Prisoner of War" handstamp in blue alongside. Reverse with Valparaiso transit cds and Stockholm arrival (July 29). Uncensored as the War was over, however Germany was bankrupt and the British had to pay for the prisoner's transport (hence they were still in Chile). Reverse with Valparaiso arrival cds (Feb 15, 1876) in black. French rate correct for under 10 grams, the 10 c. due was for local delivery.
