    1810: Registered cover from Lima to Santiago de Chile with eight "#" surrounding the letter to denote registration, struck with two line "CERTIFICACION / A LIMA" in red with straight line "FRANCA" directly below. Dated at left "Julio 11 / 810" in manuscript. and endorsed internally as received and re-sent on August 16 in Santiago, and mailed back care of 'Por Correo Juan Bauptista', rated on reverse as prepaid at 39½ reales. Rare.

    1843: Official letter dated at top 'Marzo 8' and handstamped "GUNCAYO" adjacent in red, further dated at base (March 11) and struck with over-watered "TARMA" handstamp in red, again annotated on March 12 and struck with two impressions of "JAUJA" handstamp in red. An unusual document.

    1770/1860c.: Pre-philatelic cover collection on leaves and loose, with a wide variety of well struck handstamps including 1797 Postal Money Order form from La Plata (Bolivia) to Peru, scarce truncated AREQPA in red (circa 1805), 1808 cover with POPAYAN in red, 1829 entires with LIMA in red, further entire with CUZCO marking in red, rare cover to Montevideo with strikes of AREQUIPA, POTOSI, TUPISA and SALTA in red, 1837 Postal receipt from Ayacucho; also cover with BUENOS / AYRES handstamp in red, some Bolivia with noted CHUQUISACA, ORURO, PAZ and PLATA handstamps etc. Mostly fine, a delightful lot (16 items).

    1777/1858: Collection of pre-stamp covers with 1777 entire from to Quito from Lima with straight line LIMA in red rated '5' reales in manuscript, early cover to Chincha with rare "YCA" handstamp in browb, 1804 entire with two line BUENOS / AYRES in red to Arequipa, 1812 part entire with PIURA in red, 1829 entire from Callo to Arequipa with superb LIMA in red, entire letters (2) with straight line CUZCO in red, 1829 entire from Lima to Buenos Ayres rated at '10½' reales probably carried 'via Cordillera', 1858 cover with superb "PATAZ / FRANCA" in red etc. Mainly very fine (11 items), a rare group..

    1773/1840c.: Group of covers (10) with Colonial "LIMA" in red on front to Santiago, July 1807 cover to Tucuman with large straight line "LIMA" in red, 1833 entire with watery but rare "CARAVELI" straight line in red, entire with str. line "ISLAY" in red, rare 1832 entire with truncated "NEPENA" handstamp in red, covers with "ARYCA" and "ARICA" handstamps in red, 1854 entire with oval "CUZCO / 2.R." rate handstamp used as despatch in black, 1829 and 1855 entires with "TACNA" in red and (small handstamp) in blue, a scarce group, most with choice strikes.

    1858: Error of Colour ½ (medio) peso rose-red instead of orange-yellow from the sheet of the 'Un Peseta'; five fine to fair used examples, all fives types from A - E thereby repesenting the complete transfer block of this error. The five adhesives are cancelled type A CALLAO dots cancel, type B CALLAO datestamp (May 13, 1858) in circle, type C ARICA cds in blue (July 1, 1858), type D LIMA 1-2-3 in oval with dots on piece, and type E PASCO dots cancel. A rarely offered selection of all five types of this sought after colour error, well written up on sheet, four certs. Gi 4b = £ 23'750 / Scott = $ 23'750.
