    1840 (Nov 18): Entire letter from Malta to Alexandria, Egypt  well struck with "Malta Post Paid" straight line handstamp in black with French P.O. in Alexandria arrival cds (Nov 25) on reverse. Rare so fine.

    1842/43: Entire letters (3), all to Malta, with 1843 slitted entire from Tunis with "Purifié au Lazaret / Malte" and fine "2 Oct. 1d." due marking on reverse; 1843 entire from Alexandria French P.O. also slitted for disinfection with "Purifié au Lazaret / Malte" and fine "6 Feb 2d." due marking on reverse, 1842 entire prepaid from French P.O. in Alexandria struck with rare framed due mark on arrival "15 Oct 4d." in black. A scarce trio in much above average quality.

    1859/80: Great Britain used in Malta: covers (15), with strip of six 1 d. red stars on 1861 cover to Marseille, 1857 4 d. rose on 1860 cover to Constantinople, usages to Italy (most with "2¾" Italian credit) with single frankings of 1862 4 d. red or 1865/73 4 d. vermilion, 1867/80 6 d. violet, 1876/79 2½ d. rosy mauve, 1880 2½ d. blue etc. Generally fine, a scarce and attractive group.
