    1899/1959: Collection in large volume, beginning with USA Military issues, often in larger blocks, 1914 Map issue with Die Proofs (8) of the complete set from 1 c. to $1 and the 1914 poecial Delivery 10 c. deep blue Die Proof all with minor aging; US issue for Puerto Principe with a number of attractive pieces including a 2½ c. bisected and tied on piece. Later issues are well represented including miniature sheets and Airmail issues. An appealing lot with much of interest.

    Ingoing 1835 (July 4): Entire letter from Bordeaux to Havana, struck with BORDEAUX despatch cds in red on front as well as framed "P.P." handstamp in red denoting partial prepayment to the harbour, arrival with 'NE' handstamp in black. Cover with usually found toning, nevertheless a very rare destination in this early period.

    Ingoing 1837 (Aug 9): Entire letter from Bremerhaven, Germany to Havana, conveyed by the Spanish vessel 'Virgen de Gracia' with add. endorsement indicating its captain 'Capt. Cardoña', struck on arrival with '8' due marking and 'NE' handstamp with 'N' inverted. Manuscript notation "care of Mr. H. Rottmann" denoting involvement of a forwarding agent. Cover splitting along one edge and the usually found toning, nevertheless a very rare destination in this early period, in addition bearing a rare marking of the Cuban "Empresa de Correos Maritimos".

    Ingoing 1846 (March 16): Entire letter from London to Santiago de Cuba, endorsed "p West India Pkt", struck with London cross despatch datestamp in red on front, partially prepaid with 2/3 (s./d.), upon arrival rated with '2' reales due for the part of the journey from the harbour. Reverse with "SANTIAGO DE CUBA / ISLA DE CUBA 5 MAY. 1846" arrival cds in red. A fine and fresh entire letter.

    Ingoing 1854/57: Two entire letters from Paris and Astaffort in France to Havana, both sent fully prepaid via Great Britain, struck with matching despatch and London transit cds's in red on front, reverse with HABANA arrival cds's in blue. Upon arrival rated with '2' reales due for the part of the journey from the harbour and struck with "NE" handstamp, both in blue. A fine duo.

    Ingoing 1861/66: Four entire letters / covers from France and the United Kingdom to Havana incl. 1861 entire letter from Paris bearing Napolèon imperf. 80 c. rose with British vessel via New York and Boston, 1863 envelope from Paris via Southampton and London, 1861 entire letter from Liverpool, and 1866 cover from London. Mixed quality group, usually found toning, an interesting lot full of postal history.

    1865/67: Great Britain 4 d. vermilion pl. 12, a single example in a rich shade with wing margin, used on 1872 cover to Tampico, Mexico tied by bold "HAVANA / C58" duplex (April 22) in black. Handstruck "1" (reales) due marking applied on arrival for local delivery. Slight staining and minor faults to letter sheet but scarce.
