    1861 (Aug 6): Fully prepaid Cover from Bergen to Amsterdam bearing 1856-57 King Oscar 2 sk. orange yellow, 4 sk. blue and 8 sk. carmine, a pair and a single, tied by "BERGEN 6 / 8 1861 cds's in black, framed FRANCO and "HAMBURG 12 / 8 61" transit datestamp in oval alongside. Reverse with "KDOPA HAMBURG 12 / 8 11-12" transit cds in black as well as "AMSTERDAM 13 8 1861" arrival cds in red. A fresh and fine franking paying the 30 skilling rate, the front shows a weiterfranko of '5' sgr. for the GAPU and the Netherlands. Norgeskatalogen (1995) = NOK 12'000.

    1859 (Oct 16): Fully prepaid Entire letter from Mandal to Leith, United Kingdom, bearing 1856 King Oskar 3 sk. grey and 8 sk. brown carmine, two single adhesives and horizontal pair, fine adhesives with good perforation, tied by three-ring '197' numeral, matching MANDAL despatch cds in black, "HAMBURG PAID OC 19 1858" and "LONDON PAID OC 21 59" transit cds's, both in red alongside, reverse with transit cds's des "K.D.O.P. HAMBURG 19 10" and of "EDINBURGH OC 22 58". An interesting franking paying correctly the 35 sk. rate to the United Kingdom.rnNote: If sent via Hamburg, cover to the UK had to be prepaid until its destination.

Louise par les postes de Danmark et de la Tour & Taxis", bearing Oscar 3 sk. grey violet in a mixed franking with Arms 4 sk. blue and 8 sk. light-rose in a horizontal pair (Facit 3+7+8), an overall fresh and fine three-colour franking, prepaying the 23 sk. rate to France. Adhesives tied by "CHRISTIANIA 20 / 10 1865", PD in circle handstamp and French "TOUR T. 25 OCT 65 FORBACH" entry cds, both in red alongside. Reverse with "K.D.O.P.A. LUEBECK" and "LÜBECK TH. & T." transit cds's and arrival cds. A fine mixed issue cover.
