THOMAS JAN 28 1814" large fleuron datestamp, reverse London arrival cds in red (March 8, 1814), charged '2/2', a fine and scarce Shipmail usage.rnNote: The second British Invasion of the Danish West Indies took place in December 1807 when a British fleet captured the Danish islands of St Thomas on 22 December and Santa Cruz on 25 December. This British occupation of the Danish West Indies lasted until 20 November 1815, when Britain returned the islands to Denmark.

    Ingoing from Great Britain to St. Thomas, 1859 (May 16): Fully prepaid Entire letter from the Danish Consulate in London with corresponding seal cachet on reverse, despatched at "LOMBARD STREET MY 16 59 PAID" cds in red, directed to the Chairman of the board in St. Thomas with "ST. THOMAS MY 29 59" arrival cds in black on reverse. A fresh and scarce entire.
