1899: 1 s, pale blue, perf., Pigeongram issue, a used example on edge of printed flimsy form tied by oval "The Original Great Barrier Pigeongram Service / 3 Jan 1901" datestamp in violet to S. Holden Howie flimsy (220 x 145 mm.); the letter from Port Fitzroy states "We are having a great time cruising on the Rangatira. We went first to Mercury Island....we have been further along the coast to where the Wairaiapa was wrecked...".
