    1899: 1 s, pale blue, perf., Pigeongram issue, a used example on edge of printed flimsy form tied by oval "The Original Great Barrier Pigeongram Service / 3 Jan 1901" datestamp in violet to S. Holden Howie flimsy (220 x 145 mm.); the letter from Port Fitzroy states "We are having a great time cruising on the Rangatira. We went first to Mercury Island....we have been further along the coast to where the Wairaiapa was wrecked...". The form and adhesive with small creasing imperfections as to be expected, the stamp thinned as used as seal but a scarce and appealing usage.
