    1876 (Feb 5): Entire letter to Constantinople endorsed "Per Ship Laconia", franked by Great Britain 1876 2½ d. rosy mauve, pl. 2 on white paper tied by bold "Malta-A25" duplex. Superb MALTA / SHIP LETTER alongside (rare) and reverse with British Post Office in Constantinople arrival cds in red. A rare entire. Provenanc: Francisco Collection (1989)

    1875/77: 2½ d. rosy mauve, the complete set of plates (1-17) used in Malta with clear "A25" cancellations throughout (34 stamps) and the collection of covers/entires (9) including Plate 1 on white paper tied by duplex dated "JY 6-1875" (sixth day of issue), another cover with two examples from differing plates 13 and 176 used to London and a registered usage to Livorno; 2½ d. blue with issued stamps (11) and covers (2) including a registered usage. Generally fine, a scarce lot.

    USED IN MALTA: 1882 (Feb 23): Double rate cover to Japan (not a UPU member at this date), franked by 1880 2½ d. blue pl. 22 (three) and single 1880 ½ d. deep green all tied by "Malta-A25" duplexes.
