1893 (March 7): Cover from Johore Bahru to Strasbourg, franked by Johore 1891 2 c. dull purple & yellow and by Starits Settlements 1883 5 c. blue, the former tied by bold strike of rare "Loonchu / Johore" star and crescent handstamp in red and both adhesives tied "Singapore" cds in black (March 8). Red "Johore Bahru / Paid" cds at left (March 7) and reverse with further Singapore datestamp and Strassbourg arrival cds (April 7). A delightful and very rare cover. Cert. Holcombe (1997).
