    1848/49: Post Paid 2 d. deep blue on greyish paper, Earliest Impression, two large to huge margined examples, positions 6 and 12 on the sheet of twelve subjects, tied to 1849 cover and large part back to Calcutta endorsed 'p. Paragon', tied by circular barred obliterators in black. Crowned 'MAURITIUS / GPO' datestamp below (July 26) in black and reverse with 'Calcutta / Ship Letter' framed datestamp of arrival in black.     1848/55: Post Paid 1 d. orange-vermilion on slightly blued paper, Early Impression, a used horizontal pair, positions 11-12 on the sheet of twelve subjects, with clear to good margins all round and of fine colour, cancelled by numeral '1' obliterators of Mahebourg in black. A very rare and most attractive pair. Cert. RPSL (1944) Gi = £ 14'000.

    1859 (Dec 12): Dardenne 2 d. blue on laid paper, a used example without surrounding margins but most unusually showing part of the Paper-Maker's STACEY WISE / RUSH MILLS watermark, neatly cancelled by mute barred obliterator in black.
