    1872: Cover from Berdiansk to Genova, Italy sent unpaid with reverse showing two "Berdiansk" despatch datestamps (Dec 6 and 7) in black, obverse with framed 'PORTO' in black and crayon '2' for double rate. Odessa transit cds (Dec 11) and thence via Vienna (25/12g) and taxed on arrival with 1870 Postage Due 60 c. and 40 c. tied on arrival. Minor tear in file fold at top but opens well for Exhibit display.
