    1878/79: Dom Pedro rouletted 10 r. vermilion (2), 20 r. violet (two horizontal pairs, imprint 100 r. green and 200 r. black all used on registered cover from Rio de Janeiro to Paris tied by fine strikes of segmented cork handstamps in red (the 100 r. also tied by 'Lille-Paris' TPO in black). Oval framed REGISTRADO handstamp in red on front and reverse with Rio de Janeiro cds in red (Jan 27) and Paris arrival cds (Feb 27). A charming and extremely colourful franking. Cert. Holcombe (1985).

A delightful lot in the foremost quality.

    1929/32: Group of five interesting airmail covers with better frankings and usages, incl. 1929 envelope franked with E.T.A. stamps 200 r. (2), 1'000 r. and 2'000 r. from Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo, registered usage of Syndaco Condor stamps  on cover from Rio de Janeiro to Vienna (17.Feb.1930) and another to Pelotas  (28.Nov.30) as well as two VARIG covers, one with small overprint on 1'300 r. strip of six from Rio Grande to Porto Alegre, another franked with 1931 50 r. brown strip of seven on cover from Porto Alegre (14.5.32) to Rio de Janeiro.
