    1849/59: Post Paid 2 d. blue, Intermediate impression on greyish blue paper, used example from position 10 on the plate of 12 subjects, ample to large margins on three sides, close but clear at left, cancelled by crisp circular '1' handstamp (Mahébourg) in black. A fine and scarce stamp. Signed Brun Gi = £ 3'500.

    1859: Britannia 6 d. blue, a fine example with large margins all round, close but clear at top right, used in combination with 1860 perf. 2 d. blue, each tied by dumb obliterators in black to October 1860 entire letter from Port Louis endorsed 'via Marseille' to Bordeaux. Reverse with 'Mauritius / GPO' despatch cds (Oct 6) and front with red entry marking (Nov 7). Charged '24' décimes due on receipt in manuscript. A rare mixed issue usage. Signed Calves. Cert. E.
