    1854: 1 a. red, Die I, a fine large margined example, 1854 2 a. green and two fine 1855 4 a. blue & red, 4th Printing, Head Die III, Frame Die II, used on 1855 cover from Chittagong (Burma) to Caen, France tied by lozenge of dots in black and, on arrival, by French '20' décime charge marking in black. Manuscript '8' (annas) for steamship rate at left and framed INDIA PAID in red. Circular 'Indes Or. / Marseille' entry marking in red on front (Nov 3) and reverse with fine strike of circular CHITTAGONG P.O. handstamps with date (Sept 7) in manuscript alongside Calcutta transit and Caen arrival cds. A magnificent and most attractive three colour first issue franking.

    1855: 8 a. carmine on blue glazed paper, a fine example used on 1858 cover from Calcutta to Genova endorsed 'per steamer 'Nubia' via Egypt & Trieste', tied by B/1 octagonal in black with red despatch (April 22) on reverse. Framed 'India Paid' in red and italic 'D.A.a.L.'  (Diritto Austriaco Austriache Lire) in red struck in Milan in transit (Van der Linden fig. 869). Genova (May 26) arrival on reverse.

    1869: Cover from Calcutta to Lyon, France franked by 1865 8 p. purple on white, 2 a. orange and 1866 4 a. green in a horizontal pair all tied by 'B/1' octagonal obliterators in blue and by sender's cachet and by private straight line 'Via Bombay, Suez & Marseille'. Framed PD in black at left and reverse with Calcutta cds in red (March 30) and Lyon arrival cds (April 25). An attractive three colour franking in fine quality.

    Indian Custodian Forces in Korea 1953 (Dec 3): Registered airmail cover to Sweden, written from PANMUNJON, North Korea by a Lt. Col. in the Swedish NNSC, franked by complete set of 12 overprinted values all tied by Indian F. P. O. No. 741 datestamps with registration label alongside. Reverse with 'Base Post Office' cdsa and Rome transit (Dec 12) cds. A scarce set Gi = £ 100 off cover.

    Alwar 1877/1945: Collection well written-up on leaves with 1877 ¼ a. blue (shades) unused (57) and used (51, incl. two vertical strips of six) showing varieties and types (based on R. J. Benns specialised listing article for Indian Study Circle), 1899/1901 ¼ a. emerald with wide margins unused and 1899/1901 ¼ a. emerald unused (25) incl. a fine unused vertical pair imperforate between (Gi 5b = £ 425) and a block, ¼ a. emerald used (14) with cancellation study; 1 a. brown unused (34, incl. imperf. between vertical pair) plus unused blocks of 16 and another of 27 (3 x 9) from base of sheet (possibly one of the largest recorded multiples), 1 a. brown used (20) including an extraordinary example solely cancelled by 'Peking' chop in black, 1899/1901 redrawn ¼ a. slate unused (8) and used (13), thereafter with a superb selection of covers (13) of the issues including 1877 ¼ a. blue (10 examples) on cover, ¼ a. blue on India ½ a. green stationery envelope, six covers with combinations of ¼ a. blue and 1 a. brown, covers with 1 a. brown (4), two bearing strips of three, further cover with four examples and another with five; also a fine volume (with necessary literature) of Court Fee and Revenue stamps (75) together with three Die Proofs, 1945 1 a. blue block of four and single optd. 'Specimen' by Waterlow and further usages on documents (20). A fine collection with many very scarce items that needs more sympathetic arrangement.

    Bundi 1917/41: Covers (3) all bearing 1917 3 a. chestnut to deep chestnut, Type A, single frankings; large part registered cover with three 1 a. red, Type B all neatly but piece with faults; cover with ½ a. black, Type C, imperforate with large margins all round tied by blue cross in crayon and by circular datestamp, together with ¼ a. indigo, Type C, used on large piece and similarly cancelled; ¼ a. ultramarine, Type C, a faulty imperforate vertical pair used on large part cover, 1939 ½ a. black, perf. 11, used on reverse of cover etc. A scarce issue on letter with careful viewing recommended.
