    1861: Entire letter written from Xania, Crete to Syros, Greece endorsed at top 'Payé' in manuscript, struck with outstanding strike of circular negative COMP RUSSE DE NAVIGAT S VAPE AGENCE DE CANDIE and Russian Eagle in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 264 = RRR). Reverse with Syros arrival cds (March 13) and charged '20' lepta for inland delivery on receipt. A significant entire of great rarity, presumed by Tchilinghirian and Mikulski to be the sole recorded usage. Cert. Mikulski (1999).

    1869 (Jan 22): Entire letter written in Italian from Alexandretta to Aleppo, manuscript '1' in crayon at right, handstamped on arrival with two line POSTE - RUSSE / d'ALEP in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 205). It is interesting to note the similarity of this marking with that of the French Post Office in Aleppo at the same time. The exceptional strike of this marking on a fine entire in excellent quality. Rare. The unique usage recorded by Tchilinghirian & Stephen. Cert. BPA (2000).

    1866/67: 10 pa. blue & dull rose, a superb horizontal strip of four showing the vertical guidelines between the stamps and complete horizontal guide line at top, tiny indentation in margin of no significance, used on May 1869 cover from Samsun to Trebizonde, tied by three strikes of 64 dot 'retta' in black. reverse with Russian P. O. single ring SAMSUN datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig.123) in black. A splendid and extremely rare cover in Exhibition quality.

    1866: ROPiT 2 pi. deep blue & rose, a huge margined example in a deep shade, with outer frame lines at base and at right, used on 1866 cover from Latakia to Beirut, neatly tied by double ring RUSS. OBSCH: PAR i TORG. LATIJSK: AGENTSTV. handstamp in blue (Russian Agency for Shipping in Latakia / Russ. Gessellschaft für Dampfschiff und Handel, Agentur in Lattakia) with superb strike of single ring PORT LATTAKIA datestamp  (Nov 18) at right also in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 207). Docketing of receipt inside of December 1. Small iron spotting in paper and file fold away from the superb adhesive. An astonishingly rare cover for the specialist. Signed J. Cividini, L. Miro. Cert.     1868: 1 kopek brown and 5 k. blue, perf. 11½, used on August 1871 entire letter from Lattakia to Alexandria, Egypt tied by blurred blue dotted numeral handstamps with Russian P. O. in LATTAKIA datestamp in blue at right (Tchilinghirian fig. 208). Reverse, opens well for display, with fine strike (for this) of large circular ALEKSANDRIISKOE AGENTSTVO ROPIT / AGENCY OF ALEXANDRIA, ROPIT datestamp in pale blue (Tchilighirian fig. 257). Some imperfections but a fine and rare cover paying the 6 kopek Maritime 'Port-to-Port' rate.

    1872: 5 kopek blue, perf. 14½ used with 1879 2 k. black & rose on 1885 cover from Trebizonde to the USA, neatly tied by TRAPEZUNT datestamp of Russian P. O. (Oct 9) well struck in blue (Tchilinghirian fig. 97). Reverse with oval ROPIT / CONSTANTINOPLE datestamps in black (Oct 14) and 'Odessa' cds (Oct 16) alongside 'New York / Paid All' arrival duplex (Nov 14). Envelope with closed tear and lower right corner repaired, nevertheless a scarce Transatlantic usage.
