    Emergency Service 1948: Restored cover franked by pictorial 5 m. brown-orange pair used from Nahariya to Haifa, with fine strike of first Nahariya slogan with manuscript time "11" inserted, to pay the fee for transporting the letter by sea to Haifa (20 m.) and a further 10 m. paid by adhesives for the normal rate, tied by Haifa cds (March 23). A rare cover: the road from Nahariya to Haifa was blocked by Arabs at Acre and the emergency service ran from March 22 until May 12 by sea. Cert. Muentz (2000).

Interesting content: "the new King of Natal (Cetawayo) is known to be hostile to Natal...there are 12'000 whites mixed up with 140'000 Zulu refugees .... he can bring into the field some 50'000 trained warriors ..." . Four show Bulgarian cachet "Prisonnier de Guerre" to assure free postage, all were censored either in Sofia or Plovdiv. The majority directed to France, another one to Switzerland. A very rare example is a postcard sent within Bulgaria from one POW in Sofia to another French POW in Tatar Pazadjik.
