    1866: 2 pia. horizontal background (2) from first and last print run of this subtype in the colours deep blue & rose and pale blue & rose, showing wide to broad margins with cutting lines, tied by blue double cds (April 9) of Smyrna (Tchilinghirian fig. 150) on cover to Tripoli. Fore-shortened at right but an extremely fine and rare combination cover. Cert. Mikulski (1999).

    1863/73: Lot four stamps, including a 1865 ROPIT 10 para brown & blue used, two copies of the 6 k. ultramarine for printed matters, one unused, other cancelled "Konstantinopol, 11.4.69" (Tchilinghirian fig. 9).  In addition Imperial Post 20 k. blue & orange together with a 1872 3 k. green Russian Levant tied to piece by "Konstantin, 13.9.73" cds. (Tchilinghirian fig. 12). A fine group.

    1879: 10 k. carmine & green, overprinted with black "thin 7", tied with cds "LATAKIYA 30 YUL." (Tchilinghirian fig. 209) on 1881 folded letter to Aleppo with cds "ALEKSANDRETA 31 YUL." (Tchilinghirian fig. 200) alongside. Horizontal file fold touches the stamp, cover with some toning, however a very rare stamp on entire letter.

    1900: 10 pa. on 2 k. green, vertically laid paper on picture side of postcard, tied with violet oval datestamp "ROPiT AG. KAVALLA 13 IYUN 1907" (Tchilinghirian fig. 185), with full strike on address side of card, sent as printed matter to the United States, ROPiT Saloniki (Jun 14) transit (Tchilinghirian fig. 178) and Monongahela PA arrival mark alongside (Jul 13). Extremely rare postmark not known on cover to Tchilinghirian.

    1909: 1 pia on 10 k. blue 1909 commemorative set 50th anniversary of ROPiT, additional overprint "Dardanelles", tied with blueish cds "ROPIT DARDANELLY 26.XII.1910" (Tchilinghirian fig. 138) on cover to Athens with arrival mark (Dec 28) on reverse. Slight vertical fold not touching the stamp. Postmark on cover not known to Tchilinghirian and use of this series on cover is also rare.

    1890: Registered cover with three-country franking with Turkey 10 pa. green (2) and 20 pa. violet 1892 definitive issue tied with bilingual cds of Brousse (Jan 27, 1898), sent to the Russian consul in Saloniki, there franked with add. pair 10 kop. carmine & green 1890 ROPiT issue, tied with violet cds (Tchilinghirian fig. 176), registered and sent to Langenargen (Germany), there franked again with Württemberg 3 pf. brown & 5 pf. green (Feb 11) and sent back to Brousse (Feb 18), transit cds of Constantinople and Odessa on reverse. Provenance: Cihangir collection, 121st Corinphila auction, May 2000, lot 522.

    1863/1914: Collection of used/unused stamps, carefully described on 34 pages incl. 6 k. blue 1863 for printed matter in all three paper types (stamp with medium paper thickness with small scratch), 1865 10 pa. & 2 pia. used, 1866 issue with both networks, 1876/79 overprints of "8" and "7" on 10 k. incl. the "thin 7" unused. A fine selection Mi = € 6'700.
