    Algérie. 1863/71: 10 c. light-brown Napoleon laureated and 30 c. brown Bordeaux on outer letter sheet from Marseille (blue company mark), transported privately to Algeria and dispatched at the TPO in Philippeville / Algerie (Aug 27, 1871; waved TPO mark on front); stamps tied upon arrival in Constantine with gros chiffre "5023", arrival cds on reverse (Aug 27). A pristine Bordeaux use in Algeria few days prior to the tariff change. Cert. Scheller (2009).

    1936: Airraid Algeria to French Equatorial Africa January to February, official unaddressed envelope numbered '42' from the 'Chambre de Commerce d'Alger', bearing ten different colonial stamps, franked and nicley cancelled step by step whilst the raid went ahead, pilot's signature on top left, only 100 items flown Müller Nr.69 =1750 points.

    The Rebellion and War in Algeria 1954-1962. The fantastic study, formed by a soldier who took part in the War, with the whole gamut of Stamps, Postal History, Newspaper Cuttings, Photographs and extraordinary Posters, autograph letters from Generals involved. This phenomenal collection begins with France issues used in Algeria during the beginning of the War, continues with covers showing the S.A.S. and S.A.U. cachets on franked and un-franked covers, continues with F.L.N. circulars and 'Laissez Passer' documents, propaganda leaflets, rare Recovered Mail, Interrupted Mail, July 1962 "EA" overprints on France with sheets, blocks, covers under each Department that issued the various different handstamps, surcharge varieties, provisional surcharges, booklets and complete sheets. Very seldom encountered material, the basis for a truly wonderful Exhibit.

    1870/1973: Small lot of better items, incl. Ballon monté (presumably "L'Armand Barbès", Oct 4 1870; repaired folded letter) to Algier with 20 c. blue Napoleon laureated, tied with Paris star cancel "8"; in addition non-adopted essay "Algeria map" with variety "C instead of G in country name", essay of the 1926 definitive "view on Algier bay" with signature Hourriez and 1975 0.50 on 0.40 d. overprint flower definitive showing variety: inverted overprint in a block of four.
