Blockade of Callao 1880: Cover franked by 'UPU / Plata / Peru'  overprinted 2 c. rose and pair of 5 c. ultramarine used on 1880 cover from Callao to Verona, Italy tied by British P.O. 'C38' obliterator of Callao in blue-black ink with CALLAO cds (Aug 25) of British P.O. alongside. Thence past the Chilean Blockade of Callao and struck on front with circular 'Panama / Transit' cds (Sept 13). Reverse with New York transit (Sept 24) and Verona arrival (Oct 7).
