    Guanajuato 8 r. black on red-brown, a quadrisected example used to pay the 2 reales rate on October 3, 1861 cover to San Luis Potosi tied solely by the Silao 'Eagle' handstamp (Schatzkes fig. 529) well struck in black, with CORREOS / SILAO DE LA VICTORIA Office marking in blue at right (Schatzkes fig. 527). A very similar cover from this correspondence was in the Erich Koenig collection (lot 192). A fine and scarce cover. Cert. Jaretzky (1984).
