    1843 (Jan 23): Entire letter from Alexandria to Malta struck with ALEXANDRIE / EGYPTE despatch cds in black with framed 'P.P.' alongside and manuscript '8' (décimes) prepaid; fine 'Purifié Au Lazaret / Malte' disinfection cachet in black with slits on front and back. Struck with fine (and scarce) '6 Feb 1d.' (1 penny) charge marking on arrival. Displays well, an attractive entire.
