    French Post Offices 1852/54: Entire letters (2) both to Lyon, earlier entire with 'Consulat / Republique Francaise / Metelin' despatch cachet and routed via Smyrne with cds (April 27) in black and struck with small cartridge 'Paquebots / De La / Mediterranée' in red; 1854 entire from Ayvalikand similarly routed but bearing fair italic 'Metelin' handstamp in black. A scarce pair.
