    Port Said 1870 (April 4): Cover from Port Said to Syra, Greece franked by 1867 10 s. blue tied by fine strike of PORTO SAID / EGYPTEN thimble datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig. 1) in black. Reverse with 'Lloyd Agenzie / Smirne' transit cds (April 9) and Syros arrival (March 29/April 10) cds in black. Taxed on arrival for internal delivery with Greece Large Hermes 1868 10 l. pale orange on greenish paper pair tied by Syros cds. File folds away from adhesives, a major rarity of Mediterranean and Austrian Levant Postal History with no more than five covers recorded. Signed Colla, Ferchenbauer and Todd AIEP.
    Note: The Port Said Office was opened on April 13, 1869 in anticipation of the new Lloyd Line to India, but closed in 1872.
