    1838 (Feb 21): Official OHMS printed envelope from the Colonial Secretary's Office, countersigned at top 'E. C. Harrington' in manuscript, mailed from Sydney to Dart Brook, struck with fine oval "♚ / FREE /N FE 21 / 1838" handstamp in red on despatch. Redirected back to Sydney with exceedingly rare framed "VIÂ / MUSCLEBROOK" well struck in black (this Post Office, some 10 miles from Dart Brook, opened in September 1837 but was re-named Musswellbrook in 1840). Reverse with "♚ / GENERAL POST OFFICE / FE 28 / 1838 / SYDNEY" rearrival in black. Rare.rnrnProvenance: Prestige, Melbourne, 2 May 2014, lot 1354.
