    1885: De La Rue Essay for proposed 50 piastres Revenue value, hand-painted in horizontal format in deep green on thin brown tracing paper, with arabic inscriptions, GOUVERNEMENT EGYPTIEN  and CINQUANTE PIASTRES all picked out in Chinese white. Numbered '12' in red at lower right and dated "Dec.18.85" at top right. Minor creasing not greatly affecting the delightful appearance of this unique Essay.
