1860/72: Diadem 1 s. rose-carmine, perf. 12, an irregular strip of three used on 1872 double rate cover to St. John's, Antigua endorsed "via Brindisi", tied by "Sydney / NSW" duplexes (Oct 7). Carried by the "Bangalore" to Galle with 'London / Paid' transit cds in red on obverse (Nov 25) and red British '11d.' credit (deleted), reverse with 'Antigua' arrival cds (Dec 18) with Colonial '1d.' in red manuscript. Slight opening tear at top but a rare and most attractive cover to an unusual destination. Cert.
