    1849 (Sept 5): Entire letter from New York to Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope presumably carried by favour as without despatch markings, struck at top right with framed "MISSENT / TO / SYDNEY" in black. Reverse with "SHIP LETTER / ♚ / MY 16 / 1850 / SYDNEY" in black and sent on to destination with manuscript "G 29 August 1850" on obverse and "Received at the Post Office this 30 day of August 1850, Paid 1/-". A most remarkable and unusual mis-routed entire.rnrnProvenance: Collection A.
