    1864 (5.Jan):  2l. scarlett (London print), single franking on letter from GENUA to BUENOS-AYRES, via British mail. The stamp is tied to the letter by  single strike "GENOVA". A red mark PP was applied on despatch. The letter crossed into France via LANSLEBOURG (7. Jan) and arrived in London the following day. (8. Jan.). Minor ageing on the stamp. Exceptionally rare as a single franking and one of the earliest recorded dates of use of this stamp. Certificate E. Diena (1994).
