    1876 (July 1): Surcharged 8 d. in blue on 9 d. lilac-brown on pink, a fine used example showing variety "F.IGHTPENCE" for "EIGHTPENCE" in surcharge, lightly cancelled by numeral obliterator "3" of Castlemaine in black leaving the variety entirely clear. This variety appeared on one example per sheet of 120 subjects, as just 60'000 stamps were issued, only 500 can exist.
