    1856c. "Carte de Visite" real sepia photograph of Sir Rowland Hill (1795-1879), inscribed on reverse by the photographer "Mayall / 224 Regent Street, London / 90 King's Road, Brighton". This being the trimmed photograph of Hill at his desk with quill frequently encountered in text books etc. A remarkable survivor in superb fresh condition.
