    1865: India 1 a. chocolate-brown, a horizontal strip of three, all used on1885 "The Pioneer" twenty page Newspaper printed in Allahabad, tied by "D" in bars obliterators with "NEPAL" despatch cds at right. Mailed from Dr. Gimlette, the Surgeon at the Residency in Kathmandu to Southsea, Hampshire; the additional 1½ anna franking showing the Newspaper to be over 4 ounces, with Bombay transit cds (Sept 14). Some minor aging and sensibly folded for Exhibit display with the remaining pages of this fascinating Newspaper included with the lot. Rare.
