    Recess by Perkins Bacon 1862/64: 9 d. deep brown, wmk. Star, rough perf. 14 to 15½, a used example with portion of adjoining stamp at base, on 1862 single rate cover from Galle to Fêcamp, France endorsed "Via Suez", tied by barred obliterator in black. "GALLE / POST PAID" datestamp in red alongside (March 5) and reverse with three French transits including arrival cds (March 30) where charged with handstruck '9' décimes due.
