    1841: 1 d. pink envelope (80 W.W.) used in 1853 from Charing Cross to Canterbury, New Zealand endorsed "per Ship" at lower left, prepaid "8" pence in cash on departure in London (Feb 25) with fine strike of circular "SHIP-LETTER / ♚ / LONDON" cds in red. Struck on arrival with "2" pence handstamp in black due for local delivery with "Port Victoria / New Zealand" cds (July 23) in black of arrival.
